Broccoli

Broccoli

Broccoli is planted by a planting machine at the end of July to August. THESgi implements rotation cultivation, so broccoli is usually planted after wheat. The duration of the cultivation is 100 days and requires nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Our members are supported on a technical level both by the staff of our Cooperative and by the company of "Barba Stathis" with whom we cooperate. Harvesting is conducted manually. The yields are about 1,200 kilos an acre as long as the conditions permit it. Broccoli is included in the Contractual Agriculture program of the Cooperative. As a result, there is a secured sale and also funding solutions available to our members.
